WARWICKSHIRE hosted Stage One of this season’s Inter County Squash Championships and made a winning start thanks to victories over Worcestershire and Buckinghamshire.
For these two fixtures Warwickshire’s team consisted of Rachel Woolford (Solihull Arden), Jill Chilvers (Stratford), Sam Hampson (Sutton Coalfield), Jane Armstrong (Solihull Arden), Sue Underwood (West Warwicks) & Alison Insley (Warwick Boat Club).
The day started with a comfortable 5-0 win over Worcestershire, which saw the hosts secure a maximum 20 points.
And they ended with another maximum points win over Buckinghamshire to lead the way on 40 points, while Cambridgeshire finished on 38, Worcestershire 5 and Buckinghamshire 1.
The next stage will be held in Oxfordshire next month where the hosts will play Worcestershire and Buckinghamshire and the third stage will be held in Cambridgeshire in January 2016 where the hosts will play Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.
