FOOTBALL - Adams believes Rugby Town have 'something to build on' following Rushden draw

CARL Adams believes his side ‘have something to build on’ after ending their six-game losing run with a 1-1 draw against AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

Jordan Wilson earned a share of the spoils for Valley in the second half at Hayden Road as the club picked up their first point in the league since August.

Despite failing to climb out of the relegation zone, Rugby boss Adams hopes a positive result can inspire his team to turn their season around ahead of a local derby against Bedworth United this weekend.

Adams said: “I think we’ve had enough of the ball and enough chances to win the game, but equally it was quite important that we came away with something after the way things have gone recently.

“We’ve looked increasingly threatening going forward of late and the fitter and sharper those returning from injury like Ryan [Sahota] and Kolo get, this should hopefully bear fruit in the coming weeks.

“At least we have something to build on ahead of what will be a tough local derby against a current top five team.”

Rugby travel to Bedworth on Saturday, November 4 with kick-off at 3pm at The Oval.
